    The Council's Labour/Liberal Democrat Progressive Alliance expressed concerns about local police resourcing at last night's Full Council.

    The Alliance moved a successful motion asking when the police service in Milton Keynes will be sufficiently resourced. The Conservative Group abstained on the vote for the substantive motion.

    At last night's meeting of the Council, the Lib Dem Group put forward a successful motion opposing the Tory government's planning proposals that could take away Milton Keynes residents' right to oppose controversial planning applications.

    Liberal Democrat Councillor Sam Crooks proposed the motion: "The government's proposals are a power grab, and a threat to Milton Keynes. If they go ahead, we will see more and more housing that is low-standard and unaffordable."

    The Labour/Liberal Democrat Progressive Alliance moved a successful motion at last night's Full Council asking the government for more support, as Afghan families in MK and across the country start their new lives.

    The motion asks the government to make sure councils across the country have adequate funding for housing, additional school support and mental health programmes for Afghan refugees.
