Clare Tevlin is the Lib Dem Milton Keynes North Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.

About Clare

Clare wants to see the constituency of Milton Keynes North, together with the city and surrounding towns and villages, to prosper as a hub for innovation. To see communities invested in, to thrive at grassroots level and to enable communities to grow and develop.

Clare is a District Councillor, for Huntingdonshire District Council and part of a Joint Administration. Working as a policy and engagement professional, she has worked for politicians, local authorities and charitable organisations.     

Representing community is what Clare is most passionate about, particularly when it comes to advocating for people from all backgrounds. As an enthusiastic Public Policy MSc graduate from the University of Bath and graduate in Law with International Politics from Aberystwyth University, Clare is eager to engage in public policy and community action.

Clare has been active in policy development, lobbying and campaigns, including tackling health inequalities and the cost of living. She is Vice-Chair of Licensing and sits on Development Management Committee at her Council. Clare has also represented her community as an elected Public Governor for an NHS Trust, where she has been keen to make a difference in raising the awareness of mental health and community needs and services.

Bringing communities together

Clare supports minority groups in making Milton Keynes North a safe and welcoming place to grow and flourish. She supports greater community cohesion and the welcoming of cultural diversity.  

Working in project management in relation to community development, Clare has worked supporting the various Refugee and Relocation Schemes for local authorities. As well as work leading on a campaign around County Lines drugs trafficking and working with schools, Police Commissioners and safeguarding leads.

She has professional experience working on a range of commercial and local authority projects, including delivering engagement and consultations for new developments and large-scale infrastructure projects. She is passionate about advocating on behalf of the needs of her local community around infrastructure planning, environmental sustainability and connectivity.   

Carers champion

Championing carers and those with health needs, Clare is a family carer for her Father, and has worked for a local carers’ charity based in East Anglia raising awareness of carers. Clare continues to lobby for carers rights, disability accessibility and improved access to health and social care.
