Following a 'Call In' by the Liberal Democrats of their decision to reduce the size of parking spaces in Central Milton Keynes the Labour run Council has decided to withdraw their proposals.

The Liberal Democrats were concerned that the smaller spaces would result in more cars being damaged, they didn't believe that the proposals were good value for money and that a proper risk analysis of the proposals had not taken place. Also, the impact of the work would be very disruptive to local residents and visitors alike.

Following discussions between Liberal Democrats councillors and the Labour Administration they have seen sense and withdrawn their proposals.

The Liberal Democrats believe that more ambitious proposals are needed such as more multi-story car parks.
