Charges for Sheltered Housing Officers

We the undersigned object to additional charges for our Sheltered Housing Officers. Proposals to charge vulnerable residents up to £24.00 per week is excess and unfair. The consultation was also unfair. However, despite a consultation, the decision has been taken in private, as the Council's budget includes income from charges for the year 25/26. This increase will not be covered by Housing Benefit but will impact upon our oldest residents unfairly, and also impact upon their families, who will step in to help fund this essential service for their loved ones.
