Lib Dems Join Running of Council as Leader Announces Progressive Alliance Cabinet
Last week, Labour and the Lib Dems united in a Progressive Alliance to run a majority administration, and yesterday the Leader of the Council announced the Cabinet.

Labour Councillor Pete Marland remains Leader of the Council. Liberal Democrat Councillor Robin Bradburn is now Deputy Leader of the Council, and Cabinet member for Economy, Recovery and Renewal.
Councillor Jane Carr (Lib Dem) takes on the new portfolio of Tackling Inequalities and Child Poverty.
Councillor Paul Trendall (Lib Dem) takes on Customer Services, while Councillor Jenny Wilson-Marklew (Labour) holds Climate and Sustainability.
Councillor Emily Darlington (Labour) takes on Adults, Housing and Healthy Communities, while Councillor Rob Middleton (Labour) stays with Resources.
Councillor Lauren Townsend (Labour) moves to Public Realm, and Councillor Zoe Nolan (Labour) stays with Children and Families.

Liberal Democrat Group Leader Councillor Robin Bradburn said: "As we recover from the pandemic, it is more important than ever to stand side by side, and this Cabinet embodies that attitude. We are working together to make sure that our city has a prosperous, green and fair recovery."
"I'm particularly excited about the new portfolio for Tackling Inequalities and Child Poverty. The Liberal Democrats have always been passionate about this and now, with a dedicated portfolio, we can get to work on what we promised in our manifesto - working to reduce child poverty in our city."

Labour Councillor Pete Marland said: "This is a diverse, talented and knowledgeable Cabinet. Together we have a wealth of experience and will be able to deliver for the people of Milton Keynes."
The Cabinet was formally appointed at a meeting of the Full Council on 19 May 2021.
