Local Election Candidates and Liberal Democrats and Greens Announce Election Agreement

The Liberal Democrats and Green Party have announced they will not be standing against each other in three wards in the May 2022 local elections for Milton Keynes Council.

In the Campbell Park and Old Woughton ward and Shenley Brook End ward the Green Party will not stand a candidate, and in Olney ward the Liberal Democrats will not stand a candidate. The two parties not standing against each other will increase the chance that candidates of both parties will defeat their opponents.

The agreement only covers the three wards mentioned where each party expects a close race this election.

Rebecca Cave, Local Party Chair of Milton Keynes Liberal Democrats, commented:

"For several years the Liberal Democrats on Milton Keynes Council have been working with others to put people before politics, and make sure that the Council puts the needs of the residents in the borough ahead of political differences."
