Just over a year ago the Lib Dems helped stop plans to scrap the pink sacks as part of the 2016/17 Council budget. They argued that waste policy should only be changed as part of the Waste Strategy.

This evening, 7th March, MK Council Cabinet passed its new Waste Strategy which includes the retention of the popular pink sacks. Cllr Douglas McCall introduced the pink sack scheme 14 years ago when he was Cabinet member.

Following reviewing fortnightly, 3 weekly and 4 weekly collections, the Lib Dems are delighted to say that the strategy also retains WEEKLY collection of rubbish.
