I attended yet another meeting at the Chartwell Sheltered Housing Scheme in Newport Pagnell on the 12th January, along with my colleague Cllr Paul Alexander.

Following the last meeting many residents complained to the Council about the proposed cut to the wardens.

The latest proposal from the Council is now to keep either a full day or half day warden service, with all residents who currently don't pay paying £18.72 per week. Those who don't pay are in receipt of benefits, so how are they supposed to pay this extra money? The proposal just doesn't add up.

The Liberal Democrats will be fighting to keep the warden service."
