Street name plates shock

20 Sep 2016

IMG_1038 (2)We have experienced delays of months and more when asking for broken and missing street name plates to be replaced and now we know why. I discovered, after some detailed questioning of Council officers, that there is no money in the Council's general budget for street signs although 200 have been reported missing or broken. The Council is managing to fix just 50 per year out of another pot of money, and as the number needing fixing is growing all the time, it doesn't take a mathematician to realise this problem is just going to get worse.

I've recently asked for this broken sign in Springfield to be fixed. As the sign hasn't disappeared (yet) let's hope they manage to repair it, rather than it being added to the list of over 200.
